About
Now, more than ever, research is mounting about the dangers of tobacco use. In fact, we know that tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of death and disease in our society.
Tobaccobytes.com will be a place you can access up-to-date information on tobacco prevention and control practices. The Grand Forks Tobacco-Free Coalition’s vision, mission, and activities are centered founded on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs. These best practices can be summarized by four main goals:
- Preventing initiation among youth and young adults
- Promoting quitting among adults and youth
- Eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke
- Identifying and eliminating tobacco-related disparities among population groups.
The Grand Forks Tobacco-Free Coalition is committed to serving and supporting the community in its endeavor to achieve these goals and shape the social norms related to tobacco use.
